Celebrate Presidents Day

| Blog | February 20, 2011

Presidents Day, initially established to celebrate the birthday of George Washington, the first U.S. president, allows us to honor our nation’s top leaders.

Many cities and towns across the country will hold special events. George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate & Gardens is offering free admission on Presidents Day. The day will include a birthday party with re-enactors.

If you’re lucky enough to have Monday off to celebrate Presidents Day, you may want to visit Mount Vernon, located just south of Washington, D.C. For more information, visit the Mount Vernon website.

And if you’ve attended a celebration in your area and are still searching for something to do, then shop. You’ll find sales on any number of your favorite products.

Retailers have already advertised sales and marked down many of their best-selling products. For example, search for children’s books, personal care products, food, cards and gardening supplies.

Whether you’re shopping or enjoying any number of events scheduled for the holiday in your area, celebrate Presidents Day in your own special way.
